Today’s couple are a testement to the fact that real people do meet online these days and that the online dating world is worth a shot. Meet Nikitha and Ruban, our couple from UK who were kind enough to share with us their wedding and eshoot pictures. The one thing that is apparent throughout all their images is their love for one another and we couldn’t be more happier to share their wedding with you.
Their Story . . .
Our love story was an amazing miracle by God. Ruban and I met online as most couple do thesedays. We had mutual friends and he always liked my photos on Instagram and I went into his page to find out he had amazing A R Rahman BGMs, (he still obviously is a crazy fan). One day he had the courage to message me – hestitant at first thinking I will not reply as he thought I was full of myself (although I am a very humble person)! So yes, I did reply, and from then on we hit it off. We spoke on Facebook messenger as I did not give him my number until we started going out. He was born in a strict Hindu family and I was from a strict Christian family, and I told him straight away that it will never work but he never accepted that. We spoke for a bit more and he decided I was the one he was going to marry, but I did not believe him for one second. But here we are 6 months into our marriage and he still treats me like he did the first day.
We were both very scared of what our parents will say, but by the grace of God both parents accepted straight away which we could not believe. His mother recently told me that she had peace in her heart the first day she had met me and she is the sweetest mother in law anyone could ask for. Many people believe that two different religions cannot work but we had proved them wrong. My husband and I cannot be more suitable for each other, I am a strong believer and pray every day and I believe God has guided us the whole way through.
I was born in France and came to UK when I was 10 years old. I graduated from nursing school in 2013. Ruban was born in Sri Lanka and came to UK when he was 8 years old. I work in a GP surgery as a nurse and Ruban works as an IT analyst for a construction company. We only met a year and a half before we had gotten married, but it honestly feels like so much more. Everything had happened v0ery quickly, we told our parents in September and our wedding took place on 17th March 2017. Our lucky number is 17, as he was born on the 17th of September and I was born on the 17th of April and believe it or not, the first month we had been together he told me we will get married in 2017!
Our wedding had to be planned in a very short period of time, Ruban and I struggled day and night to organise this ourselves after working hours. We decided to do neither Hindu nor a Christian ceremony as we did not want to upset anyone. I was 26 and he was 27 when we got married, better late than never! The key to true love is always patience. Our registry and reception happened on the same day in Painshill Park and it was the most beautiful day of my life. All our hard work was worth it when we heard the feedback from our guests.
We went from no one believing we would last; to planning a wedding in 6 months; and to buying our own house together in another 6 months; the most amazing feeling for both of us. Anything is possible if you put God first and truly believe that whatever is meant to happen will always happen.
