This love story takes place on the school grounds in Switzerland. Despite being from two different Cantons, these two happened to meet at the same school where they knew at first sight that they would be it for each other. We bring you the story of Shahana & Teleshan!
We are both from Switzerland. I am from another canton but after the wedding I moved to my husbands city- to the capital of Switzerland, Bern. I work as a banker in Bern, and my husband is also a banker.
Our first date was in the year 2009, specifically on 24.06.2009. I met him in Zurich where I was attending school. Coincidentally enough, he was also going to school in Zurich at the time.
I knew from the first time I saw him, even though it was from a far, that he would be the man I would share my future with. My birthday is on December 12 so on 12/12/12, he proposed to me and of course I said yes! I met his family for the first time at the house ceremony (Thattu Mattral)
We decided to get married in Bern as that was where he was from. We had an engagement party where we invited just our closest friends. It was very intimate and special because of how personal the event was.
Our traditional tamil weddin was on June 18th 2016. It took us a year to plan the whole thing. The first thing that got us very excited was our wedding cards, which we ordered in from India. My husband and his family went to India twice throughout the planning of our wedding to make purchases like outfits and other wedding essentials. His colleague is a event decorator and he sourced things from India as well to do our stage and mandap decorations.
My husband picked out my sarees and I have to say they were just a dream. I loved the colours and how incredibly beautiful they were ( I must say my man has very good taste). My husband and I picked out my entrance song together and when we first played it for my bridesmaids, they were in tears!
After our wedding we flew directly to Mauritius for our honeymoon. It is our dream to see the world together.
Tie • The • Thali would like to wish this lovely couple a wonderful married life and a heartfelt thankful from the bottom of our hearts for sharing their story for us.
